As if I needed any more vindication for my love of Kiss, I offer the following clip of Pearl Jam performing “Black Diamond” with Ace Frehley during their June 25 show at Madison Square Garden.

That’s drummer Matt Cameron on vocals, by the way, playing the part of Peter Criss.  And because I can’t pass up a good chance to post some more Kiss, here’s Ace and his former bandmates doing the very same song at the very same venue, in 1977.

Take that Thom - If Kiss is cool enough for Pearl Jam, they’re cool enough for you.

Ouch. That one hits where it hurts. I guess I could say that Pearl Jam can make any music seem great :P

Actually, the real problem is that because of the make-up, I grew up thinking that Kiss was a parody band, like Spinal Tap. It was much too late in life that I discovered what they really were.

Also, I’m trying not to think about the awesome shows I’ve missed lately. The really regretted the last time I missed a Pearl Jam tour, too.

Well fuck. We only got Cee Jay Ramone, and missed out on Rearviewmirror, which they played on Wednesday. Sonofawhore.
