All-Time NFL Franchise Rankings, 2014 Edition

Football Friday, Sports
With training camp upon us and the 2014 NFL season just around the corner, it's time to revisit my list ranking all 32 franchises from best to worst. For reference, here is last year's list. And don't forget to check out all my other fantastic sports lists as well! I didn't see the need to introduce any major changes to my calculation system, other than to penalize teams for losing seasons. Also, I did go back and correct some data entry errors I discovered. None of this had a noticeable impact on the rankings, as no team moved more than two places from the 2013 list. The Criteria The categories and point values are as follows: 25 points for a championship game/Super Bowl win, 15 points for a championship game/Super Bowl loss (starting in 1932). 5 points for a season with a play

The 10 Longest Active Super Bowl/Championship Droughts in NFL History

(Note: Totals are accurate through the end of the 2014 NFL regular season.) It seems like training camp just opened, and we've already put another NFL regular season in the books. But now I want to turn my attention to the unfortunates -- the teams that haven't won a National Football League title since I've even been alive. While there are some pretty good franchises on this list, it's mostly a collection of clubs that have come to represent football futility for most. Unlike the other major American sports leagues, the NFL has seen fit to establish a clear distinction between the pre- and post-Super Bowl eras. I have never bought into that line of thinking, and so I count Super Bowls, NFL championships, and AFL championships equally. If you think that's bunk, I'm not going to try t
The Best and Worst NFL Logos (NFC West)

The Best and Worst NFL Logos (NFC West)

With the 2012 National Football League season nearly upon us, now is as good a time as any to obsess once again on one of my favorite topics — logos. So I’m going to offer up my choices for the best and worst NFL logos for all 32 current NFL franchises. Primary, alternate, and helmet logos listed on Chris Creamer’s outstanding logo website are all under consideration. Today, for the last entry, I look at the four squads of the NFC’s West division. Previous entries: AFC East, NFC East, AFC North, NFC North, AFC South, NFC South, AFC West Arizona Cardinals Best If there are two things the Cardinals have been consistent about over the decades, it's the look of their logo and their losing (recent years excepted). I've always been a fan of the Cards' look. Worst I guess back in

The Kasem Syndrome – 7 Classic Celebrity Meltdowns

Listcruft
In light of Charlie Sheen (he of the fiery fists, tiger blood, and Adonis DNA) being in the midst of a full-blown public meltdown, I thought I'd recycle this post from March 24, 2008. If nothing else, it proves that Sheen is just the latest in a long line of celebrities acting with less than proper decorum. Now that Easter's over (well, one of them anyway), I thought I'd take a few minutes to celebrate anger. Not the kind of anger that starts wars or incites mindless violence, but rather the kind of anger that causes people in the public eye to make complete asses of themselves. In other words, the kind of anger we can all enjoy. So I've spent at least 20 minutes scouring YouTube for some prime examples of celebrity rage. Mind you, I'm not attempting to judge anyone here. I doubt the...
