Ahhhhlycia!

The hit counter on this site went into the red today, which can only mean one thing.  Yup, Alycia Lane is at it…again.  When I put up a juicy bikini pic of the disgraced Philadelphia newscaster back in December, I never imagined it would become my most popular post.  In fact, it saddens me a bit.

Today’s news is that Lane is suing her former employer, KYW-TV in Philly, for all manner of (alleged) naughtiness on their part.  I just can’t decide whether she is incredibly unlucky or just batshit crazy.  Either way, for some reason people just have to see pictures of her in a bikini – or less.  So once again, I will give the people what they want:

Wa wa wee wa!  Very nice!

And your next James Bond movie is…

Quantum of Solace? Come again? It’s supposedly taken from an old Ian Fleming short story, but that’s just horrible. George Lucas is laughing at this title. It sounds more like a crappy new age album than a spy movie.

Better living through your children

For proud parents of intelligent or athletic children, there seems to be no shortage of bumper sticker options for displaying said pride. By now we’ve all seen the ubiquitous “Proud Parent of a Blah Blah High School Honor Student” sticker, or witnessed the proliferation of athletic stickers ranging from the common soccer ball to the newest trend (at least in NJ) of silhouette stickers depicting one sport or another.

This is all well and good, but sad to say, not every child can be a SUPERSTAR despite the most fervent wishes of their parents. So should their cars go unadorned with festive and boastful decals? Hell no! Mediocrity and underachievement should be celebrated in our children, just like it is in our adults – how else could we explain Sheryl Crow’s career?

So as a public service to the beaming parents of slackers, malcontents, and misfits, I offer just a few suitable-for-printing decals for your use. Custom orders always accepted of course… Read on Daddy-O…

They called what?!

With the recent dust up over Spygate, more attention is being focused on what is and isn’t allowed in the NFL. And let’s face it, American football can already be a confusing sport to follow, what with it’s myriad of well-known rules and regulations. Not to mention the fact that at least once a season, some poor team gets screwed by a seldom-cited section of the NFL rulebook (think the Oakland/New England “Tuck Game”).

In an effort to shed light on some of the league’s more arcane infractions, I bring you illustrated, genuine examples of some penalties you might never see called in your lifetime, but can nonetheless win bar bets by knowing. As always, click the pics for bigger versions.

Ouch!

The illegal horse-collar tackle is well-known by football fans, but slightly less well-known is the ol’ “righty tighty, lefty loosey” tackle.

Meet Your GFS Staff!

Maintaining the level of excellence you’ve come to expect on this blog is not an easy task. And it’s one I simply could not perform without the help of some very able professionals. They don’t often get credit, mostly because of my enormous ego, but I wanted to take a moment to shine the spotlight on them for a bit. So without further ado, here’s a look at the fine folks who make The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit possible (as always, click for a larger view)…

A better staff I could not ask for (or afford).

London’s 2012 Olympic logo is awesome

And by awesome I mean craptacular. Seriously, did they even try? They’ve had 2 years to put this together, and it looks like something my 6-year-old nephew could put together in Microsoft Paint with a blindfold on. Ooooh, it says 2012 if you look closely! OMG!!@@#!

Seriously, I think London really dropped the ball on this one. What they needed to do was to create something more appealing and lasting; something that speaks to the rich heritage of the country, as well as their many contributions to world culture. Since it’s not too late for them to change their minds, I’ve come up with a few ideas (with all respect to my readers from across the Pond, of course).

I just hope the royalty checks (or cheques, as they say over there) get sent to the right address.
