Sherwood Schwartz, TV writer and creator of The Brady Bunch and Gilligan’s Island, died yesterday at age 94. Here are just a few of the ways this television pioneer will be remembered by those who loved him.

    DC trivia on Schwartz for you:  The SS Minnow was named to mock Newton Minow, Kennedy’s FCC chariman.  He’s famous for the “vast wasteland” disparaginging description of television.  His implied threat to the networks ironically (or unsurprisingly, depending on your opinion of government intervention) resulted in the bland cookie-cutter programming of the 1960’s.
