Here’s a fresh batch of some quality interweb finds I’ve come across over the last 7 days: Very cool Super 8 footage of Elton John performing at Madison Square Garden, Thanksgiving 1974. Special guest appearance by John Lennon! (YouTube) Are you getting tired of Charlie Sheen too? Well read this great op-ed about his troubling history with women, anyway. (New York Times) For no particular reason, let's look at a state-by-state breakdown of U.S. passport ownership. (Grey's Blog) Ever wonder how long many different kinds of animals live? Wonder no more. (Clusterflock) For vinyl nerds like myself, this is cool. A random stacking of stereo label logos. (Stereo Stack) One of these days I'll have a use for that stack of Susan B. Anthony dollar coins. (Consumerist) Today is Na

Here’s a fresh batch of some quality interweb finds I’ve come across over the last 7 days: For the 5 or 6 people who haven't seen Charlie Sheen's interviews on NBC's Today and ABC's Good Morning America, watch them now and start winning. (Television Blend) A thought-provoking piece on music listening, and how long it should take to "get" an album before writing about it. (The AV Club) Was a Vanity Fair editor secretly working for the Church of Scientology? (The New York Observer) Ruh roh — Infamous NHL tough guy Bob Probert was suffering from degenerative brain disease when he died last year. (Deadspin) The Jersey Shore, as it was in 1910 before infected with the likes of Snooki and the Situation. (Shorpy) Vengeance Dad, meet Karate Kyle. (Know Your Meme) Did Americans

Not the kind of anger that starts wars or incites mindless violence, but rather the kind of anger that causes people in the public eye to make complete asses of themselves. In other words, the kind of anger we can all enjoy. So I've spent at least 20 minutes scouring YouTube for some prime examples of celebrity rage. Mind you, I'm not attempting to judge anyone here. I doubt the...

Charlie Sheen hasn't just killed the golden goose with his most recent public rant against Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre among others, he's pissed on its corpse and lit it on fire. CBS has canceled production for the rest of the season, although they have not killed the show outright (damn!). Anyway, I can think of no better song to play right now than "Charlie Sheen" from the King's X album Please Come Home... Mr. Bulbous, so here it is. Here are the lyrics, for those scoring at home: It all works out It all works out It all works out It all works out I'm waiting for a word beyond our history And paper tigers dance about within the mystery Clover of substance I can't put my finger on And stepping over sidewalk cracks I'm catching the last one The silent wa...
