The Best and Worst NFL Logos (NFC West)

The Best and Worst NFL Logos (NFC West)

Sports
With the 2012 National Football League season nearly upon us, now is as good a time as any to obsess once again on one of my favorite topics — logos. So I’m going to offer up my choices for the best and worst NFL logos for all 32 current NFL franchises. Primary, alternate, and helmet logos listed on Chris Creamer’s outstanding logo website are all under consideration. Today, for the last entry, I look at the four squads of the NFC’s West division. Previous entries: AFC East, NFC East, AFC North, NFC North, AFC South, NFC South, AFC West Arizona Cardinals Best If there are two things the Cardinals have been consistent about over the decades, it's the look of their logo and their losing (recent years excepted). I've always been a fan of the Cards' look. Worst I guess back in

Football Friday — Packers vs. Saints, 1975

Football Friday, Sports
As the 2011 NFL season -- which opens next Thursday -- inches ever closer, I'm going to take a crack at a new series called Football Friday. New Orleans was playing their ninth season in the league, and their first in the newly opened Louisiana Superdome (mmm, Corned Beef Domewich!). The Saints, led by quarterback...

Why I am now a Seattle Seahawks fan

Sports
For the next month (at most), I am switching my NFL allegiance from my beloved Oakland Raiders to the Seattle Seahawks.  Why?  Well a few reasons.  For one, I need a break from Al Davis and his batshit crazy ownership moves, like letting go of the first semi-competent head coach he's had in a decade (Tom Cable) and the best defensive player he's had in a decade (Nnamdi Asomugha). But don't worry, I'm no bandwagon fan.  As soon as the Seahawks either get dumped from the playoffs or win the whole damn thing at Super Bowl XLV (that means 73 in Italian, right?), it's back to the Silver & Black for me.  But I'm really hoping for the latter right now. It's not that I give a damn about the Seahawks, a former hated AFC West rival.  It's that they're doing such a marvelous job pissing off
