Scenes from a Southern California Drug Store, 1970

This outstanding collection of found photos (courtesy Flick user Paula Wirth) features a series of store/product displays from the Hy-Lo Drug Store in Southern California, snapped circa July 1970.

One of the interesting things to me about photos like this is not just how much things have changed but what things haven’t changed that much at all. The vintage radios would be totally out of place in a drug store today but the packaging on some of those toothpaste or laundry detergent boxes? Not so much.

Enjoy!
